About the internship
The Data Engineering Internship focuses on designing the maintenance and optimization of data processing systems to support A220 DMU. A220 DMU initiative. Interns are responsible for the process of transforming, extracting and loading data from various sources to the target systems, while working with skilled engineers to create efficient solutions to access data. This job requires a lot of the ability to think creatively, have a sense of humor and a desire to keep up with the latest technologies within a rapidly-changing working environment.

Principal responsibility
Data Engineering Intern Data Engineering Intern will:
- Assist in the design, construction and maintaining pipelines for data processing that are used for the A220 DMU project.
- Data extraction, transformation as well as loading (ETL) processes across a variety of sources and destinations.
- Contribute to the creation of web APIs that are simple to use by using Node.js as well as AWS Lambda to increase access to data for internal applications and tools.
- Cooperate closely with engineers at the top to better understand the technical requirements and solve issues efficiently.
- Document all methods, codes and workflows to ensure trackability and maintenance.
- Use best practices for code standards, data engineering and the control of version.
- Make sure that project milestones are met in time and to high-quality standards.
- Create cost-effective, innovative solutions that improve the efficiency and sustainability of your business.

Skills and qualifications required
The ideal candidates are studying or have completed a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree with a focus on Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related fields of technology. The interns are expected to demonstrate a solid understanding of programming and the desire to apply their problem-solving skills to the real-world data challenges.
Essential qualifications include:
- An understanding of at minimum one programming language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience with the manipulation of data and its analysis using Python libraries such as Pandas.
- A solid understanding of data structures, specifically DataFrames lists, DataFrames Dictionarys.
- Basic understanding in SQL queries and the experience of working in relational databases.
- A basic comprehension of APIs RESTful, AWS, and serverless architectural concepts.
- Exposure to Node.js to assist with API programming or for backend scripting.
- The need to be aware of formats used for data interchange like JSON.
- Basic knowledge of Git or other systems for managing versions.
- An analytical mindset that is backed by an ability to solve problems with a high degree of efficiency.
- Excellent command of English with a strong communication and ability to present.
- Self-motivated learner who can pick new frameworks or technologies independently.
