Internship Overview
The Problem Setting team at HackerEarth develops new programming challenges and challenges for a wide range of scenarios, including private and public hackathons, competitions for coding and technical tests employed by the world’s top corporations. The work involves both technical and creative aspects, such as question formulation and testing, as well as reviewing and working in close collaboration with other teams in order to provide challenging and high-quality tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new challenges that focus on algorithms, data structures and mathematics across all difficulty levels to accommodate a variety of candidate capabilities.
- Develop real-world programming scenarios and rigorously test the challenges created by peers for accuracy and balance of difficulty.
- Examine HackerEarth’s vast question bank, looking for technical issues and making sure that you adhere to the guidelines for style and quality.
- Include codes in stubs (partial code) for editors for problem-solving, which allows candidates to concentrate on resolving the fundamental reasoning, not just the syntax.
- Answer questions, suggestions, or issues that are raised by candidates who are solving issues on the platform.
- Collaboration in conjunction with our technical documentation staff to clear confusion relating to context and grammar, and ensure that problem statements are concise and clear.
Required Skills and Profile
- Proficient in data structures and algorithms and mathematical problem-solving.
- A solid programmer’s profile that is competitive on well-known online judges like HackerEarth, HackerRank, Codeforces, Codechef, SPOJ or similar platforms.
- Prior experience in creating, reviewing, or testing problems for online programming platforms is highly desired.
- Fantastic communication and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
